Clear refund policies help manage customer expectations.

Standard Refund Policy

Preppable recommends:

  • Full Refund: If canceled 48+ hours before delivery

  • 50% Refund: If canceled 24-48 hours before

  • No Refund: Less than 24 hours (food already prepared)

How to Issue a Refund

  1. Go to Restaurant Dashboard β†’ Customers

  2. Find the customer's subscription

  3. Click Actions β†’ Issue Refund

  4. Select amount and reason

  5. Confirm refund

Refund Reasons

  • Customer Request: Standard cancellation

  • Quality Issue: Food not up to standards

  • Delivery Problem: Late or missing order

  • Restaurant Cancellation: You canceled the order

Partial Refunds

For missed items or quality issues:

  1. Calculate refund amount (e.g., 25% for one missing item)

  2. Issue partial refund

  3. Add note explaining adjustment

Chargeback Protection

To avoid chargebacks:

  • Respond to customer complaints quickly

  • Issue refunds promptly when appropriate

  • Keep detailed order records

  • Use delivery confirmation (photos, signatures)

Tax and Fees

  • Refunds: Include tax in refund amount

  • Stripe Fees: Not refunded ($0.30 + 2.9% per transaction)

  • Preppable Fees: Refunded proportionally
